The Phillies and Brewers played the final game of 3 game series from Citizens Bank Park, The scheduled pitching matchup was Cliff Lee vs. Brewers Michael Fiers. Charlie Manuel made changes to lineup, Ben Revere back in the lead off position. Jimmy Rollins was back at shortstop, Freddy Galvis got start at 3rd base, Cesar Hernandez at 2nd base
The Phils came into this game on a little bit of a slump dropping three straight and were looking to avoid the 3 game sweep of the Brewers on Sunday afternoon. But one man that isn't on a slump is Domonic Brown who hits a 3 run home run for a 3-0 lead. Brown is on an offensive explosion hitting seven dingers in his last seven games and 13 RBIs including one home run and 4 RBIs on Sunday. The Phils weren't done yet.
Erik Kratz doubles to left scoring John Mayberry for a 4-0 lead, then Freddy Galvis triples to center scoring Kratz for a 5-0 1st inning lead. The Phillies would add more runs in the 2nd inning when Ryan Howard hits sacrifice fly to left scoring Ben revere for a 6-0 lead, and then Domonic Brown hits a riple scoring Jimmy Rollins for a 7-0 lead. In the 5th inning, Cliff Lee picked up his 1600 career strikeout when he strikes out Alex Gonzalez. But the Breweres weren't going away that easy.
They come storming back finally getting on the board in the 8th inning when Norichika Aoki singles on a line drive to left scoring Rickie Weeks for a 7-1 lead, then Jonathan Lucroy hits a Grand slam, but gets overturned by the umpires to a triple scoring Norichika Aoki ,Carlos Gomez & Aramis Ramirez to make it 7-4, then the Brewers would add another in 9th when Jeff Bianchi single to left scoring Alex Gonzalez to make it a 7-5 Phillies lead. But Antonio Bastardo comes in the 9th inning for the save opportunity in place of Johnathan Papelbon who was unavailable due to a stomach ache and gets the job done for the, Phillies as they would hold on for a 7-5 win.
-Phillies Cliff Lee went 7.2 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, 11 strikeouts on 105 pitches,
-Brewers Michael Fiers went 1.2 innings, 7 hits, 7 runs, 1 strikeout on 49 pitches.
-Dominic Brown was a double shy of the cycle on Sunday.
